Our Place in 2012:

Late last week the Ministry of Education approved our claim for the additional work in the staffroom area of the administration block. While the exact timetable will not be confirmed until next week, it looks like we will not be able to move back into the building until the end of May. The silver lining to this particular cloud is that at least the school does not have to pay directly for this work as we do for other property work.

The downside of this delay is that we will not be able to run ‘Discovery Missions’ or some of our other extension programmes in Term 1 or early Term 2 as we simply do not have the space. We plan to catch up on these once we get the use of the administration block and library back.

2012 Laingholm Primary School Senior Raft Race:

This fun day on 23 March 2012 was the culmination in a few weeks of learning for the senior classes. They made the rafts in classes and then did a variety of races throughout the morning. What a way to finish! Check out the video and some photos

Cross Country:

After Team Galactica’s dramatic last minute victory in the ‘Tug-o-War’ . Team Enterprise were out for revenge in the second Team Competition for the year, the cross country run. The day saw the fortunes of the two teams rise and fall, it got to the stage where parents were volunteered as helpers for the Fun Run and Gala in exchange for Team Points. After a dramatic final race Team Enterprise was declared the winner. A special thank you to Shaun Collins from Lactic Turkey Events for the use of the race Gear.

The Laingholm team then went on to WIN the interschool cross country competition!!!
